Star Mug Rugs, Kit OR Wool Pack, K137, DIY Mug Rugs or Christmas Ornaments, for Primitive Rug Hooking

$30.00

Shipping to United States: $7.95

Star Mug Rugs OR Ornaments can be purchased as Kit (Pattern and wool) OR Wool Pack Only.
Current wool selections will vary from the original (see photos marked with current selection)

Option 1) Purchase as a kit which includes:
* Hand Drawn Pattern on your choice of monks cloth or primitive linen.
* Wool Pack for hooking with either uncut wool or cut in #8 strips (see photos for current wools)
* Fat 1/8 yard to use for the backs of the mug rugs/ornaments.
* Information sheet with a color photo with suggestions how to hook the stars and how to finish them after hooking.

Option 2)
* order just the wool pack without the pattern, with options of wool uncut or cut in #8 strips (see photos). Fat 1/8th yard will not be cut. SEE PHOTOS for current selection of wools. A great option for using the wool for Applique.

The kit does NOT include a hook or instructions on how to hook.

There is a generous amount of wool in this kit. The amount of wool is based on how much I used to hook these mug rugs plus extra. If you hook higher or tighter than I do, or with a different cut than #8, you may need extra wool and are welcome to purchase more.

These four mug rugs measure approximately 5" x 5" each and are hand drawn on a 19" x 20" foundation fabric to make it fit on most lap frames or in a 14" hoop. The raw edges of the foundation fabric have been serged to prevent raveling while hooking.

Hooks are available in the Hooking Supplies Section: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DesignsInWool?ref=listing-shop2-all-items-count§ion_id=7706447
You will also need a hoop or a frame.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Custom and personalized orders

Please feel free to contact me about special orders by clicking on the "request a custom order" button. I have a lot of inventory that is not listed.

If you are looking for a specific color or texture, I will be happy to check my inventory. If you are able to send a photo, that is a great help to me in understanding what you are looking for.

Special Orders are non returnable. Wool Kits and Wool Packs that have been cut in strips for rug hooking are not refundable.

Designs and patterns that have been customized and/or personalized cannot be returned.

Which Backing Fabric should I choose?

Cotton Monks Cloth is 100% cotton woven with two warp threads and two weft threads has 12 x 13 holes per inch. It is great for hooking with all cuts of wool, from fine to primitive cuts. It is less expensive than primitive linen.

Primitive linen is 100% linen, the most durable backing fabric. It is more expensive than other backing fabrics. The evenly spaced weave of 12 x 12 threads per inch makes it great for all primitive cuts, #7 and wider.
Beginners usually have an easier time hooking with linen.

Both are fine and long lasting choices for the backing to support and make your hooked rug durable. I use both types, but usually choose linen for larger projects.

Do you refund shipping overage charges?

Yes, if the difference is $3.00 or more. Etsy calculations, especially on orders with multiple items, can add up to more than the actual shipping. I will let you know when your order is ready to ship if you will be receiving a shipping refund.

    Second order. Excellent quality

I've just finished hooking these star mug mats and/or ornaments and they turned out just like her photos! I am just getting back into rug hooking after many years and I was and still am a beginner. They are super simple and fun and I can't wait to start on the snow people! The quality of the materials is excellent and so are the instructions. I will be purchasing more for sure! Thank you for such an excellent product.
